Stop and restart transport and it pops back into normal operation. Fortunately, it has never crashed on me.Īnother (temporary, I hope) small drawback is that Acoustica's devs induced (or exposed) a bug somewhere in the last few builds where when I have Mixcraft in loop playback (or recording) mode, Orchestral Companion Strings works fine until playback gets to the end of the loop and returns to the head, at which time the plug-in goes into this weird mode where it only plays staccato. Development seems to have completely stopped.

It advertises a manual and has none, advertises that the mod wheel will perform swells and it does not. I don't remember exactly what I paid at Pluginboutique, whether it was $1 or $10, but it was about right. Strings available hereĪnother user of Sonivox Orchestral Companion Strings here. So I recommend the Garriton (but I originally got the Orchestral Companion Strings for £1 from Plugin Boutique and was chuffed with it really).įirstly though, you could download the (FREE) VSCO Orchestra and check it out, the link is under the video here įree Mellotron sounds i.e.

I also bought a Kirk Hunter thing (it seemed like a good idea until it was informing me that I had to credit them if I published anything using their library even on the internet and that they were scouring the net for examples of breaches of this - I don't recall being informed of this before buying it, so I feel like I was ripped off for £125 or whatever it costs as they all tell you that you have no consumer rights regarding software that you have installed or even opened and can't get your money back, governments are a disgrace allowing this to be the case, so anyway, I recommend staying clear of those vultures). it isn't ridiculously oversampled and bloated like the Orchestral Companion stuff, so it loads quicker and can load 16 layers per instance, rather than one (which suits me perfectly). My initial impression is that the Garriton has much more choice for less file size i.e.

Orchestra (which I also have but haven't had as long and haven't really got round to using much, apart from adding reverb to yer man's thing on the other thread). They are quite simple and effective only after the application of some reverb, but I think that appears to be a common problem as it is probably like that with the Garriton Personal I have all the Orchestral Companions, Strings, Brass and Woodwinds. I also got the Toontrack Mellotron & the Pipe Organ Mark, great deals.
